A park land acquisition fund be, and the same is hereby, established as provided by K.S.A. 14-2004, to be used by the city for the purchasing or otherwise acquiring land for park purposes.

There shall be deposited in the fund from the general fund of the city such sums as the governing body shall determine, not to exceed in anyone year the sum of $5,000, which may accumulate in the fund from year to year provided that the total amount in the fund at any time shall not exceed $25,000.

The governing body may use any money in the fund from time to time to acquire land for park purposes and the money may be expended during any budget year even though the same was not included in the budget of expenditures for such year.
