A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF NEWTON, KANSAS, FROM THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-1009, WHICH PROVIDES FOR WEEKLY MEETINGS OF THE CITY COMMISSION FOR CITIES OF THE FIRST CLASS IN THE STATE OF KANSAS, AND PROVIDING AS A SUBSTITUTE THEREFOR MEETINGS OF SAID GOVERNING BODY AS HEREINAFTER SET FORTH.

Section 1. The City of Newton, Kansas, under the authority of Article 12, Section 5 of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, thereby elects to exempt itself from and to make in applicable to it the provisions of K.S.A. 12-1009 which apply to said city, but which do not apply uniformly to all cities and to provide substitute and additional provisions on the same subject.
