A CHARTER ORDINANCE EXEMPTING THE CITY OF NEWTON, KANSAS, FROM THE PROVISIONS OF K.S.A. 12-3001 APPLICABLE TO COMMISSION CITIES OF THE FIRST CLASS.

Section 1. The City of Newton, Kansas, a commission city of the first class by the power invested in it by Article 12, Section 5, of the Constitution of the State of Kansas, hereby elects to and does exempt itself from and makes inapplicable to it that part of K.S.A. 12-3001, which applies only to commission cities of the first class.
